Product Analysis – Definition and Techniques

Product Analysis

Product Analysis is a tool that is used to Define Scope. It generally involves asking questions about a product and forming answers to describe the use, characteristics, and other relevant aspects of what is going to be delivered at the end.

It is an effective tool for projects that have a product as a deliverable, as opposed to a service or a result. It allows project managers to make sure that both the product scope and project scope are clearly understood and are accurate.

With product analysis, the objectives and description of the product stated by the customer or sponsor are analyzed, to turn them into tangible deliverables.
